I can understand the MODs reluctance to pay out huge compensation claims for people injured in combat. It’s a risky job and by signing up you know exactly what you are going to face. But their stupidity in allowing civilians to claim whopping compensation for minor injuries is understandably frustrating for injured soldiers and their families. And is making me rather angry too!
They need a blanket rule - either compensation is paid to all MoD employees relevant to the injury and impact on future ability to work or they give minimal amounts to everyone and not massive payouts to those without enough strength to lift a printer!

Point taken. If £200,000 is paid to someone who strained their back, what on earth do you pay someone who has lost one or more limbs?
